Who
benefits ?
People describe feeling supported and having a gap in their lives being
filled. They finish what they start and stay on track in creating the
changes they want in their lives. Those who are 18 or 90 can benefit from
having the skilled services of a Life Coach.
Is Coaching
therapy?
Coaching should never be considered a replacement for medical or psychological
treatment. It is not therapy and does not deal with the past or issues of a psychological nature.
Coaching is looking
at the present and moving forward with Authentic Action.
Is Coaching
a new concept?
The practice of coaching, mentoring, training and encouraging individuals
has been around for a very long time. Almost everyone has had an experience
of giving coaching or being coached at one time or another, perhaps because
it happens rather naturally. Today coaching broadens into areas of personal
achievement, career, as well as one's life at home.
If coaching happens naturally, why hire a coach?
A skilled, trained coach
- Is someone in whose presence people are freed up to see who they truly
are. Often people limit the expression of who they are. A friend or relative
may have a bias from their previous knowledge of you and their own needs
i.e., “How can you hate your job after all the time and energy you
have put into your education and training?"
- Supports people
to create goals that demonstrate the intentions they hold most closely
in their hearts. A friend or relative may have their own agenda to contend
with; i.e., “You want to move to Paris? I’ll never see you!”
- Helps or supports
people to design and take Authentic Action that will lead them to reaching
their goal. Coaching is a true partnership where the client determines
the agenda yet has the highest level of support and guidance in fulfilling
it --. We’re in it together.
How long
does it take to get the benefit of coaching?
Coaching is a process that happens over time since it is a client
driven service. However progress is acknowledge at each meeting.
I encourage my clients to experience some small, sweet successes first
before tackling the BIG ONE.
How does
coaching work?
Regular meetings and check-ins are an essential part of the coaching process.
You determine what is preferable given your situation. The sessions can
be done in person or by telephone. Check-ins can be by phone or email.
The sessions are usually about 50 – 60 minutes. An initial meeting
is free of charge so you can determine if coaching is right for you.
